Owner Information Authors are required to participate in the creation of user manuals (vehicle operating instructions) that are fully compliant with Global Authoring Standards and enable our customers to get the maximum benefit from their vehicle/vehicle features. Authors use both standard Office and custom Ford software applications to write content that includes descriptive text and supporting graphics.

Responsibilities

• You will engage in global projects and work with colleagues from all over the world
• You will manage your own time and priorities in order to meet objectives and report status during regular team meetings
• You will identify new model/feature requirements through future model research in collaboration with Engineering Subject Matter Experts
• You will support all European vehicle lines in line with communicated timing objectives
• You will be assigned a number of topics and will be responsible for providing the completed content in cooperation with engineers
• You will handle product specifications and descriptions that are fully compliant with global conventions to support owner manual development

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Interest in the Global automotive environment and diversity of consumer needs
• Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks and deliver objectives
• Confident communicator and able to work well in a team both at a local and global level but equally focused on own work assignments
• Logical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and experience of working with content management systems and xml is an advantage
• Basic graphical knowledge is an advantage (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator)
• Experience in owner's manual creation is an advantage
• Ford product knowledge is an advantage
• Odyssey*. XMetaL*. Teamcenter*
• Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese an advantage
• * Ford-specific applications. Training will be provided.
