Buyer Steel And Aluminum Blanks

Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing and Category Management:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for steel and aluminum blanks, aligning with overall organization objectives
• Manage the entire lifecycle of the steel and aluminum blanks category, including supplier selection and performance.
• Identify opportunities for supply base optimization, consolidation, and diversification to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.

Supplier Identification, Qualification, and Relationship Management:

• Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers in NA for steel and aluminum blanks, considering factors like quality, cost, delivery, and capacity.
• Lead the supplier qualification process, often in collaboration with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships and effective communication.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, addressing issues related to quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.

Negotiation and Contract Management:

• Lead complex negotiations for pricing, terms, and conditions, aiming to achieve the most favorable agreements while ensuring supply continuity and quality.
• Develop and implement long-term agreements
• Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives through negotiation, value analysis, and process improvements.

Cost Management and Value Engineering:

• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives to optimize material specifications and reduce costs.
• Drive continuous improvement in material cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Internal Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

• Work closely with engineering and design teams to understand material specifications, performance requirements, and new product development needs.
• Partner with STA to resolve material quality issues and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
• Engage with finance and legal departments for budgeting, payment terms, and contract reviews.
• Communicate sourcing strategies, market insights, and supplier performance to relevant internal stakeholders.

Sustainability and Compliance:

• Ensure suppliers adhere to ethical sourcing practices, environmental regulations, and social responsibility standards.
• Monitor and manage compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and relevant governmental regulations

Reporting and Analytics:

• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, supplier performance, lead times
• Conduct spend analysis to identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization, and cost reduction.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations on market conditions, sourcing strategies, and supplier performance for management.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Preferably Masters in Business Administration
2. Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
3. Strong Commodity Purchasing/Procurement/Strategic Sourcing/Vendor Development and Supply Chain Knowledge.
4. OEM Experinece.
5. Must have 6-10 Years of Experience.
6. Good Analytical and Problem solving Skill.
7. Flexible to work in late evening shift.
