Description
Job DescriptionSpecial Vehicle Engineering Analyst - Commercial Vehicles Special Vehicle Engineering is looking for qualified candidates with engineering experience in all automotive functional and systems areas to develop internal Commercial engineering requirements to meet the expectations of our upfitter's ease of upfit and our end user customer's functional capability and durability expectations.
Responsibilities
- Leverage partnership with Sales & Marketing, FCSD, Product Planning, and other Ford PD organizations, including our internal CV SVE Application Engineering team, to identify Commercial requirements, including Police.
- Support upfitter and end user customer needs and drive program content to meet or exceed expectations.
- Work with upfitters and end user customers to co-create vocational requirements to deliver chassis content and meet customer demand.
- Collaborate with Ford of Europe (FoE) requirement SME counterpart to align on common North America and FoE Commercial Vehicle and Police requirements.
- Release the new Commercial and Police requirements into FEDE.
- Lead publication of Ford's Incomplete Vehicle Manuals (IVM's) for applicable Ford incomplete vehicles.
- Progress Ford CV leadership position through effective and timely external communication with upfitters and end user customers.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering field of study (Electrical or Mechanical preferably)
- 4+ years of automotive or engineering experience, and preferably within the Commercial Vehicle space
Preferred Qualifications:
- Design & Release and/or Vehicle Systems Engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of Ford Product Development and Vehicle Engineering organizations
- Technical knowledge of Commercial Vehicles and upfitter industry and knowledge of Regulatory Requirements (FMVSS/CMVSS, Emissions)
- Outstanding communications skills both oral and written - summarize & articulate pertinent issues
- Strong interpersonal skills a must - with outstanding customer mindset to understand their issues
- Problem solving mindset - strong desire to help customers with their requirements, have a "can do" attitude, help resolve issues between Ford & upfitter

This position is a salary grade range 5-8.
