Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Contracts Director to lead our Intelligence & Security (I&S) businesses as a subject matter expert in contract strategy and acquisition reform. This senior-level role will drive business growth through early strategy engagement, customer relationships, and innovative contracting approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic contracting plans to drive business growth and capture new opportunities
Collaborate with business leaders to shape customer relationships and influence acquisition strategies
Provide expert guidance on commercial item contracting, including identification, pricing, and negotiation of commercial items and services
Lead the development of training and guidance on new FAR policy and acquisition reform initiatives, ensuring compliance and effective implementation across the organization
Mentor and develop key personnel, including high-potential contract professionals, to enhance contract competency and Center of Excellence (CoE) capabilities
Improve contract competency and CoE capabilities, focusing on:
+ NDA/TA Terms
+ OCIs and Mitigation Plans
+ Anti-Trust Violations & ITT
+ Scope Development
+ Proposal Development
Develop and lead an OTA (Other Transaction Authority) Center of Excellence, driving innovation and best practices in contracting
Provide expert analysis and support on key contract-related initiatives, including:
+ Early strategy engagement and customer relationships
+ Coordination with Strategic Subcontracts and BA Contracts
+ CPAR review and analysis
+ Black Hat support
+ FOIA analysis

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of work experience, or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of managing and developing contracting/Subcontracts professionals; preferably experience in managing other contract managers
Demonstrated proposal work experience and excellent presentation, team building, and leadership skills
Ability to effect and manage change, with motivational and visionary leadership skills
Experienced in the entire life cycle of prime and subcontract contracting, from proposal phase to contract closeout
Well-versed in FAR, DFAR regulations, and commercial contracting principles
Excellent writing skills and clear understanding of contract formation principles
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Acquisition & Contracts Management or related field
Related professional certifications or advanced degree beyond Bachelor's degree
Knowledge of Salesforce Contract Management Systems Application
Experience with commercial item contracting, including risk management and other contracting elements
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $154815 - $263185
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
