- Engineering Intern - BLUvera
Description
BLUvera, Mortenson’s vertically integrated self-perform manufacturing and prefabrication affiliate, utilizes advanced design, engineering, and 3D modeling to deliver and install prefabricated construction products on Mortenson projects. By utilizing DfMA principles (design for manufacturing and assembly), our BLUvera team leverages technology in the manufacture and fabrication of steel frame wall panels and data center components for our project sites. The BLUvera team continually enhances offerings in prefabricated scopes of work that drive value for Mortenson as a whole.
Highlights of your internship with Mortenson will include:
- Completing construction change orders
- Handling shop drawings, submittals, and the request for information (RFI) processes
- Assisting with purchase orders and subcontractor agreements
- Partnering in construction sequencing and schedule maintenance
- Collaborating with team in preconstruction and pre-installation meetings
- Attending subcontractor coordination meetings and assisting with correspondence
- Utilizing industry-leading technology and software to assist in manufacturing for construction processes.
- Handling material procurement
You will join an exciting and ever-changing industry with a minimum 12-week internship with our team. This opportunity is full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer of 2026. The internship is based at of our BLUvera plant office in St. Paul, MN.
The hourly wage for college Interns starts at $18.00. Students in their sophomore year of college, or more, are paid higher wages based on their year in school.
Requirements
We look forward to hearing from you if you are currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Have experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrate strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Have proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively manage multiple tasks
- Have access to reliable transportation
