The Radford, Virginia site of BAE systems is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing Level III Inspector. In this role as the NDT Level III Inspector, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding X-Ray (RT), and Ultrasonic (UT), and Visual (VT) testing inspections. You'll serve as a liaison with stakeholders, both internal and external. Your duties will include preparing for customer audits and adherence to customer specific standards. You'll be tasked to assist in the training and continued development of Level II inspectors to SNT-TC-1A and applicable military standards, delegate inspection priorities to Level II inspectors, and assist in Technical Performance Evaluations (TPEs) of Level II inspectors.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires a High School diploma (or the equivalent), and Certification, or the ability to acquire Certification, and be able to perform Level III functions in MT, PT, and VT, IAW SNT-TC-1A in not greater than 12 weeks.
- Possess or able to attain a confidential clearance.
- An effective collaborator with excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to provide NDT training to Level II inspectors and welders (both on-the-job and in a classroom setting) effectively.
- Able to effectively give guidance, assistance, and training to customers, suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.
- Experience with nonconformance tracking and Cause/Corrective Action development.
- Strong organizational and priority-setting skills.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings including related specifications and process documents.
- Ability to interpret purchase order requirements and perform evaluations of submitted test reports and certifications.
- Computer proficiency to include MS Office Suite and other industry-related software.
- Able to support on-site at the Radford manufacturing facility.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Background or knowledge of UT and RT methodologies.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
