Job DescriptionBAE Systems is Seeking a Manufacturing Technician to work in our Phoenix, AZ manufacturing environment.
Within this role, you will be responsible for managing the process taking the product that have returned to our shipment department to the production of a completed quality product. You will coordinate with engineers in the set-up and calibration of tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. May assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process and to collect design data or assist in research work. Will also support the production build of other assemblies as time allows.
Additional responsibilities:
- Working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans utilizing manufacturing test development or diagnostic equipment performs functions such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly Skills to coordinate the analysis of returned product. Requires coordinating with Quality and Program Management
- Skills to disassemble and evaluate product for return to service
- Skills to recognize components and processes required to return product to acceptable condition. Also determine responsibility on customer returns/warranty.
- Trouble shooting skills for non-conforming material/product returns.
- Establish labor and part estimates for seat rework/repair
- Methodically document labor and step by step disassembly and reassembly requirements for any/all product returned.
- Coordinate part replacement activities with Planning/QE/Manufacturing Engineering.
- Complete Warranty evaluations for customers.
- Travel required to support field repairs/evaluation
- Good communication skills to support both customer interface as well as multiple internal functions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to read and understand work documents and to communicate information clearly to coworkers and Supervisor, and to accurately provide the information requested on specific forms, reports, and logs
- 4-6 years of experience reading and interpreting Mechanical Blue Print Drawings
- Moderate understanding and knowledge of PC and related software
- Must have highly effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Previous experience recommended directing or leading others
- Must have strong organizational skills and demonstrate attention to detail
- Demonstrates expertise in operation of area assigned
- Must have a strong understanding of production manufacturing concepts and exercises good decision making capabilities
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment, with blueprint reading and interpretation required.
Aviation Seating Assembly a plus.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $58839 - $94143
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
