Job DescriptionFord Motor Company is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Platform Lifecycle Management (PLM) Technical Integration Manager in Enterprise Platform Engineering & Operations group to lead the modernization and transformation of our PLM landscape. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple teams in the migration of legacy, datacenter-based various technology applications to a cloud-native architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will ensure seamless integration between PLM systems and platform services enabling efficient product development and lifecycle management processes.
As a manager-level technical leader, you will provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and mentorship to your teams. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, product owners, and Service owners to define and execute our PLM cloud modernization/ migration strategy. A deep understanding of GCP and proven experience in leading large-scale cloud migration projects are essential for success in this role. This role entails identifying strategic opportunities, assessing emerging cloud technologies and market trends, and translating the overarching cloud vision into actionable, multi-year roadmaps and initiatives that directly support business objectives and drive innovation. This includes defining the strategic direction for hybrid or multi-cloud adoption and expansion.
Responsibilities
Platform Lifecycle Management (PLM) Cloud Migration Leadership:
- Lead multiple teams in the end-to-end migration of legacy applications from data centers to GCP, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Develop and execute detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of cloud-native solutions on GCP to replace or enhance existing legacy app/service functionalities.
- Ensure compliance with Ford's security and compliance policies throughout the migration process.
- Technical Integration Management:
- Manage the integration of PLM systems with other enterprise applications, such as ERP, CRM etc.
- Define and enforce integration standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across integrated systems.
- GCP Platform Management:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on the design, implementation, and management of the GCP platform for legacy applications/technology platforms.
- Optimize the GCP environment for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Stay up to date with the latest GCP services and features and identify opportunities to leverage them to improve the PLM landscape.
- Ensure the GCP platform is secure and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Team Management and Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of technical integration specialists and engineers.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to define and execute the PLM cloud migration strategy.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present technical concepts and solutions to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Cloud Performance Optimization and Value Realization:
- Focuses on establishing, monitoring, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and business value of cloud investments.
- Develop and implement metrics related to Cloud Platform reliability, SRE/Observability effectiveness, Cloud Network performance, developer productivity and satisfaction, and FinOps (financial operations) for cloud cost optimization on platforms like GCP.
- Regularly report to senior leadership on cloud program health, strategic impact, and identify areas for continuous improvement and value realization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree or work equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of experience leading and delivering complex Infrastructure projects or Enterprise system's integration.
- 10-15+ years of progressive experience in program management, portfolio management, or strategic planning roles within a large-scale technology organization.
- 5-7+ years of direct leadership experience managing complex technical programs or portfolios, specifically within cloud infrastructure, cloud operations, or software development for cloud environments.
- Extensive hands-on experience leading multiple teams in transforming applications from legacy datacenter-based applications to Cloud Native GCP stacks.
MUST haves...
- Must have demonstrable expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including:
- Compute Engine
- Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- SRE
- GCP Cloud Run
- Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- MUST have Project Management Professional(PMP) Certification
- MUST have experience with Agile development methodologies. Agile/Scrum certifications
- MUST have Portfolio /Program Management Experience
- MUST have experience leading global teams and providing executive reports
- MUST have Direct experience leading or significantly contributing to the establishment and growth of a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) or similar organizational structure.
- MUST have experience with FinOps principles and practices for optimizing cloud costs.
- MUST have prior experience in a global organization, managing geographically distributed teams or programs.
- MUST have Familiarity with specific cloud developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings.
- MUST have experience developing Program Roadmaps and Align executive leadership
- Ability to collaborate with platform owners to ensure end to end platform readiness for application/infrastructure deployments
- Experience with CI/CD tools and automation frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This role is remote unless you are located within 50 mile radius of a Ford Hub, which you will be required to commute on site 4x a week.
