At Ford Motor Company, we are taking our Tool & Die Supervisors to the next level. Some of these talented employees have the title of 'Process Coach-Tool & Die" and are responsible for supporting, teaching and coaching the work team (Team Leader and Team Members) to deliver key measurables that support score card targets as well as performing deep analysis of issues and continuous improvement by connecting results with the Andon, the Process, and the Inputs.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do...
- Coach and ensure adherence to standardized work to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
- Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost targets.
- Champion continuous improvement (Kaizen) and facilitate problem resolution at all levels.
- Foster effective communication and recognition practices within the team.
- Meet key performance indicators including First Time Through (FTT), inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets.
- Develop the capabilities of Team Leaders and Team Members.
- Cultivate a productive work environment for team responsibilities.
- Manage essential supervisory administrative tasks and documentation.
- Coordinate Safety Operating System activities, including overhead safety, lifting/rigging, and Energy Control/Lockout procedures.
- Lead skilled trades and die maintenance personnel to assess and enhance Die Readiness for improved production yields, output, and uptime.
- Supervise preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to minimize operational downtime.
- Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to fulfill maintenance requirements efficiently.
- Monitor daily production processes, including panel formability, last hit processes, and contamination investigations.
- Apply expertise in draw die forming, maintenance of beads, trim steels, and pierce operations.
- Coordinate major and minor die repairs.
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve downtime issues.
- Provide training on die maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
- Ensure production readiness for all operations.
- Coordinate maintenance activities seamlessly with other plant operations.
- Identify and rectify safety hazards and unsafe practices.
Qualifications
You'll Have...
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least one year(s) of experience in team management
- At least one year(s) manufacturing supervisory experience
- Journeyman's card or experience in tool and die
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook/Powerpoint)
Even Better, You'll Have...
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 3+ years automotive experience with body shop maintenance systems preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Knowledge of constraint management principles

This position is a range of salary grades 7 and 8.
