In this position...
Come join the fast-paced RWD Hybrid and 10R RWD Transmission Team! We are responsible for providing exciting customer experience vehicles like the Mustang, Bronco, Raptor, F-series, and Superduty product lines! The 10R Transmission Team is looking for engineers to help design, validate and launch the future of Rear Wheel Drive, 4x4 and Rear Wheel Hybrid Propulsion Systems.

PD Engineer specializing in current model quality & warranty, structured root cause analysis, LTIS warranty response, ICA/PCA implementation, and P65 Unit Program testing & implementation. Need to be a motivated self-starter with a love of structured root cause problem solving. The role requires daily collaboration between systems, component, quality, and manufacturing engineers.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

• Serve as a PD engineer responsible for 10 speed RWD and RWD hybrid propulsion systems and the specific transmission components and assemblies.
• Take ownership of the system & components. Work hand in hand with specific component engineers.
• Work with Ford analytical teams, component engineers, and suppliers to define component duty cycles.
• Take ownership of the DV and PV strategies to deliver a best-in-class powertrain system.
• Work as a team to improve part quality and increase the customer experience.
• Lead teams through validation of components and sub-assemblies.
• Lead structured root cause investigations and organize team collaboration.
• Lead teams through vehicle level and transmission level milestones.
• Define ES Specs for component and suppliers.
• Complete design assessments including design rules, assembly stacks, print updates.
• Must be in Livonia, Michigan 4 days a week or more depending on specific testing/hardware needs.
• Must be approved to travel globally.

Qualifications

You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
2 years of automotive transmission or powertrain experience.

Even better, you may have...
Master's degree in engineering.
Hands-on problem solver and strong root cause skills.
Independent, self-starter when required.
Good communicator and can foster relationships with suppliers.
A "be curious" and "continued improvement" mindset.
A strong drive to both learn from and teach others.

This position is a range of salary grades SG5-SG8.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
