Responsibilities
What You'll Do...
Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Operational Planning Leadership: Lead the development and execution of operational plans for the Build-Out-Build-Min (BOBM) Cell Plant, ensuring alignment with production goals.
- Demand & Capacity Management: Develop buildable and efficient operating plans by analyzing free demand and collaborating with Manufacturing Systems Application Program (MSAP), Launch, Supply Chain, and Plant teams to meet demand objectives.
- Allocation & Stability Assurance: Ensure the accuracy of allocation and its alignment with the operating plan. Monitor and achieve Production Tracking System (PTS) and Production-to-Plan (PTP) release stability targets, developing corrective action plans for any deviations.
- Cadence & Responsiveness: Ensure timely submission of operating plans and publication of supplier releases according to agreed cadences. Develop and implement catch-back plans with the Plant in response to production losses, updating releases based on daily performance.
- Assumption Letter Management: Liaise with the Manufacturing, Planning & Logistics (MP&L) Order Bank System (OBS) team and New Model Planning (NMP) to provide accurate assumption letter submissions to sales, incorporating new launches and balance-out activities.
- Detailed Scheduling: Oversee day-wise and week-wise production scheduling, optimizing for capacities and identified constraints.
- Order Fulfillment & Mitigation: Collaborate with sales to ensure orders align with allocations, and develop alternative plans to address any order shortfalls.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze critical Manufacturing Information System (MIS) reports, including PTS, PTP, Daily Production Report (DPR), and Production Control Meeting (PCM) reports.
- ERP System Support: Provide comprehensive support for the MP&L Material Requirements Planning (MRP) development and deployment plan, encompassing the Explore, Realization, Test, and Hypercare phases of SAP launch.
- Forward Model Management: Manage the department's forward model, including engineering change control and balance-out processes.
- Just-in-Time (JIT) Delivery: Ensure a seamless just-in-time material flow to prevent production disruptions, proactively responding to customer changes, quality containments, shipping adjustments, and schedule modifications.
Data Management & Reporting:
- ERP System Optimization: Identify and resolve data integrity gaps within the SAP system to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and submit comprehensive plant production performance reports to plant and divisional management. Ensure the accuracy of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment (SQDCPME) scorecards, policy deployment reports, and Plant Operating Review reports.
- Data Analysis & Strategy: Support plant-level data management and policy deployment objectives. Develop and implement inventory and cost reduction roadmaps for MP&L tasks.
- System & Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of information and process systems.
Team Meetings & Continuous Improvement:
- Meeting Facilitation: Prepare and present information for Production Control team meetings and ensure active participation and planning for monthly inventory meetings. Attend daily morning start-up meetings to communicate schedule updates, part availability, supply issues, and inventory count verifications.
- Strategic Prioritization: Prioritize work on critical issues and allocate resources effectively to achieve departmental objectives.
- Compliance & Auditing: Support internal and external audits related to VCA, Ford Production System (FPS), QS9000, Safety, Health, and Regulatory Program (SHARP), ISO14001, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and Hazmat. Conduct monthly plant audits and review plant procedures to ensure alignment with departmental standards. Oversee the cycle verification program.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate critical MP&L issues to plant and divisional supply chain and scheduling management. Ensure MP&L representation during quality campaign meetings.
- External Partner Coordination: Coordinate effectively with external logistics providers as needed.
Other:
- Operational Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, to meet dynamic production demands.
Qualifications
You'll Have...
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning management within large enterprises (e.g., materials, electronics, automotive).
- 5+ years of experience supervising, and managing teams in a large manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in standard office software and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or SAP systems.
- Excellent data analysis capabilities.
Preferred (Even Better If You Have):
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with a degree in Business or Engineering, or an MBA being highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in large-scale manufacturing environments.
- In-depth knowledge and skills related to manufacturing enterprise warehouse operations, including quality management, process optimization, and overall organizational capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in On-Time Delivery (OTD) functions.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP software such as SAP, standard office applications, and exceptional technical documentation and writing skills.

This role will start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall, MI, with the expectation to be on-site at Marshall once building construction and timing is established (relocation package available).
Once your employment with Ford commences, you will be assigned to BlueOval Battery Michigan LLC. You will continue to be employed by Ford Motor Company but work at BlueOval Battery Michigan, Ford's wholly owned subsidiary located in Marshall, Michigan. You will remain an at-will employee at all times during your employment with Ford or any Ford affiliate or subsidiary with which you later become employed.
