Description
Job DescriptionFord Pro is a new global business within Ford committed to commercial customer productivity. Ford Pro delivers a work-ready suite of vehicles, accessories and services for virtually every vocation, backed by technology and engineered for uptime. A true one-stop shop, offering a full portfolio of electrified and internal combustion vehicles designed to integrate seamlessly with the Ford Pro ecosystem, helping customers' businesses thrive today and into the new era of electrification. Ford Pro is looking for Software Engineers that embrace Agile-extreme Programming principles to deliver innovative software products for Ford of Canada, and our commercial customers.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable code to build dynamic user interfaces across multiple platforms.
- Contribute to and improve test automation frameworks while fostering a culture of software craftsmanship and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable commercial and fleet software solution.
- Participate in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Test-First Development to ensure robust, maintainable code.
- Work with cloud-based technologies and Ford system, leveraging modern tools and best practices.
- Continuously monitor, evaluate, and optimize application performance to enhance user experience.
- Partner with fellow engineers to deliver solutions that surprise and delight our customers..
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working in front-end development.
- 2+ years of experience with Object-Oriented development languages, such as but not limited to: Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Kotlin, Modern databases (Relational and non-relational).
- 1+ years of experience developing and deploying to cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in developing web-based user interfaces using JavaScript, Angular, React.js, and/or TypeScript.
- Excellent ability to debug and resolve issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform).
- Knowledge of and experience with end-to-end testing tools.
- Familiarity with eXtreme Programming (XP) practices, including Pair/Mob Programming and Test-First / Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Proficiency in Spring/Spring Boot and RESTful web services development.
- Experience with machine learning, mathematical modeling, or data analysis would be an asset.
- Proficient in Agile tools (Jira, backlogs, iterations, user stories, or similar) with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, technical specialists, and business stakeholders.
