The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You'll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You'll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
In this position...
- Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery
- Lead cross-functional decisions with Ford & Supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issues.
- Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers
- Principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations
- Lead adherence to Ford standards (i.e.Q1)
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Drive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites
- Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP)
- Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future quality
- Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery
- Lead on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations
- Travel at least 50% within North America to visit suppliers
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor of Science/ Engineering, or equivalent technical / manufacturing aptitude
- 3+ years' experience in the following manufacturing process: electronic components
- Ability to develop and present materials to leadership on short notice
- Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, and/or capacity issues on-site with suppliers
- Ability to travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico
Even better, you may have...
- Experience leading multiple assignments with demanding timelines
- Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations experience
- Casting, Machining, Forging, Stamping, Welding, Plastic/Rubber Molding, Brazing, Sintering, Automated/Manual Assembly Processes, Controls Automation programming, Paint, Chroming, SMC
- Tenure in the automotive manufacturing space is highly desirable

This position is a range of salary grades 6, 7 and 8.
