At Ford Motor Company, we are taking our Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Supervisors to the next level. These talented employees have the title of 'Team Manager - ME & Maintenance' and are the drivers of standardization and continuous improvement in the Ford Production System.
In this position, you will:
Responsibilities
- Manage Center area hourly and salaried employees in support activities for building operations and plantwide facilities to achieve SQDCPME objectives
- Manage all business aspects for indirect support departments for the Livonia Transmission Plant: Building Maintenance, Powerhouse, Tool Room, Wastewater Treatment Facility, Environmental Compliance regulations
- Manage Safety standards, measurables, policies and procedures that are maintained for entire area of responsibility in conjunction with Ford/UAW and plant standards
- Plan, organize and staff operational needs to support building and maintenance objectives
- Manage departmental budget spending for labor/overhead, industrial materials and utilities
- Manage facility maintenance, upgrades, repairs, demolition and new construction as well as installation of new equipment
- Prepare, manage and implement cost roadmap business plan for the team
- Perform administrative functions as required (vacation planning, disciplinary actions, etc.)
- Work cooperatively with the Local Union to resolve issues and improve work climate
- Lead the development of the Capital Improvement Budget activities for the area
- Responsible for achieving BiF targets for Energy, waste, hydrocarbons and water
- Lead and coordinate installation, rehabilitation, demolition and all shutdown activities
- MOS champion for the plant
- Generate and track roadmaps and CIB activities
- Responsible for compliance to regulatory & safety items (CEC inspections, dock locks, OH doors safety lock & door edge, pedestrian doors, crane inspections, elevator inspections, trailer inspections, fire door, backflow preventer, steam safety relief, railroad, cranes, safety painting, secondary restraints, lighting, housekeeping, etc.)
- Ensure the skilled workforce is properly trained and holds the correct licenses
- Responsible for monthly and annual crane inspections
- Responsible for scheduling maintenance OT (daily, w/e, & holidays)
- Track progress on project, make necessary adjustment to keep on track & prioritize
- Perform Summer and Winter readiness actions (AMU's exhaust fans, AC units, ice machines, chiller system, etc.)
Qualifications
You'll Have:
- High School diploma or GED
- 5 or more years of plant experience
- Thorough knowledge of Theory of Constraints
- Working knowledge of Ford/UAW contract
- Must have 5 or more years of plant experience
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all employees in the organization
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including working knowledge of Six Sigma.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, empower and develop employees.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills.
- Ability to work closely and successfully with others in order to deliver results
- Experienced in maintenance and working with the skilled trades teams
- Experienced in construction and demolition
Even Better You'll Have...
- Demonstrated conflict management skills.
- Should have a strong electrical/mechanical background
- Good understanding of environmental requirements of the State of Michigan
- Previous experience in Fordland or similar organization
- Technical degree or certification preferred
- Experience managing projects
