Job DescriptionIn this role...
You will drive the structural and durability performance of our drivetrain systems by performing advanced FEA analysis. Your responsibilities will extend beyond analysis to include pioneering new analytical methods, increasing team efficiency through automation, and establishing best practices for our CAE tools and procedures. A key part of your role will be elevating the team's capabilities by mentoring fellow engineers and sharing your expertise with our design partners.
This is a TWA position job sharing with a current TDE durability Technical Expert. (Maximum work hours possible is 90%).
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Conduct FEA analysis to evaluate structural and durability performance of design for drivetrain components, sub-systems, and systems.
- Lead new method development and test correlation
- Lead automation projects to improve efficiency of analytical DV
- Develop and maintain durability CAE guideline and material database files.
- Conduct regular assessments on CAE tools to identify the best practices & standardized methods.
- Develop and enforce procedures to ensure robust CAE results.
- Mentor and train CAE engineers and share knowledge with D&R engineers.
- Collaborate with other departments to deliver robust design.
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a related field.
- 10 years drivetrain Durability CAE in BEV, Hybrid, Transmission, and Driveline.
- In-depth knowledge in Solid Mechanics and Fatigue theory
- Solid understanding of static, dynamic and modal analysis for vehicle drivetrain components, sub-systems, and systems
- Track record of delivering CAE solutions that drive robust designs.
- Strong programming skills in Python-based plug-in development for FEA software.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis of tests and CAE method correlation
- Strong experience in developing automated workflow for CAE procedures.
- Familiarity with durability CAE tools: Abaqus, FEMFAT, CAEFatigue, nCode and CATIA.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for CAE method development and application.

- Knowledge of virtual RCL design study.
- Familiarity with vibration fatigue and weld joint fatigue analysis
This is a TWA position job sharing with a current TDE durability Technical Expert. (Maximum work hours possible is 90%). A Transitional Work Arrangement (TWA) is a Flexible Work Arrangement in which employees work a reduced schedule on an ongoing basis and receive prorated pay and benefits.
