In this position...
Ford Motor Company has an exciting opportunity for an Underbody Systems Hardware Architecture Supervisor responsible for leading a group of engineers to design the next generation of Ford products - gas, hybrid, and electric. This role spans the early design concept stage to the beginning phases of industrialization of chassis systems, with a focus on suspension, steering, brakes, wheel/tires, and integration of these systems into the vehicle.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Responsibilities are far ranging, from early concept CAD design to the beginning phases of industrialization, platform complexity and strategy, component design and systems engineering.
- Delivery of best-in-class cost, quality, and complexity are an expectation in this position.
- This position requires high cross-functional collaboration with activities from vehicle dynamics to manufacturing to purchasing.
Qualifications
You'll have...
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
5+ years of automotive chassis systems experience.
Even better, you may have...
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of component design, systems design, and CAE modeling is beneficial.
Knowledge of competitive vehicles, vehicle attributes (driving dynamics, NVH) and manufacturing processes is beneficial.
Knowledge of the commodity sourcing and cost delivery processes is a priority.
Demonstrated leadership skills - projects and people.
Strong problem solving and strategy thinking capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work collaboratively across multiple organizations.
Ability to work in a rapidly changing work environment and global industry.
Demonstrated ability to delivery best-in-class cost, quality, and complexity.

This position is a range of salary grades LL6.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
