The National Security Agency (NSA) is a world leader in the protection and exploitation of intelligence. We gather and analyze foreign Signals Intelligence to produce vital information for U.S. policy makers and warfighters. And we protect American intelligence from the ever-listening ears of our adversaries. Our goal is to use intelligence to give the U.S. a decisive information advantage.
We have two primary missions working toward this goal: Our Information Assurance mission works to prevent foreign adversaries from gaining access to sensitive or classified national security information. At the same time, our Signals Intelligence mission intercepts, decrypts, analyzes, and disseminates intelligence information from foreign signals. This Agency also enables Network Warfare operations to defeat terrorists and their organizations at home and abroad, consistent with U.S. laws and the protection of privacy and civil liberties.
